Course Overview
This course explores inclusive approaches that make music education accessible and meaningful for students with diverse learning needs and from varied social and cultural backgrounds. Participants will examine how music can foster belonging, representation, and creative expression for all learners.
Methodology
The course blends experiential learning, collaborative music-making, and group reflections. Through practical workshops, participants will explore strategies for adapting musical activities to a wide range of cognitive, physical, and emotional needs, as well as culturally responsive practices. Emphasis is placed on co-creation, empathy, and inclusive group dynamics.
Weekly Schedule
- Day 1: Welcome session, course introduction, and community building
- Day 2: Adapting musical activities for all learners
- Day 3: Music as a tool for emotional expression and connection
- Day 4: Cultural visit and evening jam session
- Day 5: Co-creation and inclusive group dynamics
- Day 6: Workshop design and peer feedback
- Day 7: Final reflections, course evaluation, and certificate ceremony
